UN has secured assurances from the Taliban, says envoy

The United Nations has secured assurances from the Taliban that it can pursue humanitarian work in Afghanistan where the world body will insist on women's rights and access to all civilians, said Ramiz Alakbarov, the top UN aid official in Afghanistan.
Alakbarov urged Western donors to continue funding its work in the country where 18.5 million people, or half of the population, need life-saving assistance.
