Unlike the previous government, no media outlets were forced to shut down, says Fahmi

It is untrue that media freedom was stifled under the Unity Government because not a single reporter was arrested, nor were any media outlets shut down, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi said this on Sunday (Sept 3) when asked to comment on the recent actions taken by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in blocking certain websites and news portals due to questionable content.
