US aid policy on Gaza 'absurd' given military support for Israel, says UN expert

United Nations special rapporteur on the right to food Michael Fakhri told the media that the US efforts to boost humanitarian aid to Gaza, such as plans for a temporary port and recent air drops were "absurd" and "cynical" methods so long as military aid to Israel continues.
Airdropped aid also landed on civilians in the Al Shati camp west of Gaza City, killing at least five people and wounding many more, according to the Gazan health ministry.
