US President Donald Trump said on Aug 2 that the US military held off on a fresh attack on Iran for a deal to halt Iran's nuclear weapon ambitions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that negotiations between Iran and Oman over the Strait of Hormuz were in their final stages.
