Used phone trade-in agreement to prevent stolen phones being traded

A "used phone trade-in agreement" has been introduced by the Malaysian Mobile and Communication Association (PPTM) to protect mobile phone dealers from unknowingly buying stolen phones. The agreement form will only formally be introduced on Dec 1, 2017. PPTM president Ng Keng Soon said this at a joint press conference with MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong at Wisma MCA on Thursday.
