Venezeula's election dispute sparks global protests

Protesters took to the streets in many parts of the world, including the United States, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Chile on Aug 17 condemning the results of the July 28 Venezuelan presidential election.
Venezuela's electoral authority said President Nicolas Maduro won his third term with just under 52% of the vote but the opposition, led by former lawmaker Maria Corina Machado, has published online their results giving its candidate Edmundo Gonzalez a hearty 67% support.
