A Vietnamese woman identified only as Kim, who has been receiving commission for recommending “clients” to a loan shark, is now being forced to pay the defaulted loans of RM230,000 after the borrowers were deported back to Vietnam. Debt collectors are now hounding Kim and her Malaysian husband and threatening to go after her husband’s parents for the money even though Kim did not act as a guarantor for the borrowers. Kim related her plight at a press conference held by the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department on Monday.
