Water theft uncovered at fishing park in Port Klang

The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) has issued a compound to a fishing park in Bagan Hailam, off Jalan Pelabuhan Klang Utara in Port Klang, for illegally tapping treated water.
According to Mohd Fazil Ismail, SPAN's director of corporate communications and customer affairs, the fishing park operator is believed to have been tapping treated water from a standpipe since July last year, resulting in an estimated revenue loss of RM110,000.
Mohd Fazil said SPAN estimated that 37,000 cubic meters of water was diverted over the year, adding that the company has issued a compound, and the owner will be called in to assist with further investigations.
