Watery end for NGO vans ferrying aid for flood victims

Eight volunteers ferrying numerous items for flood victims faced a precarious situation after their four vehicles were submerged under nearly two metres of water in Kampung Bekok, Jerteh around 8pm Sunday.
Besut district police chief Supt Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the volunteers were members of the Malaysia International Search and Rescue (MISAR) team from Kuala Lumpur.
They were rescued by villagers and their vehicles were taken to high ground.
