WCEF chairman: Organisers had no objections to invite Najib as keynote speaker

World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF) chairman Cheah Chyuan Yong told reporters on Monday (Dec 27) that the organisers had no objections to invite former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak as a keynote speaker at the forum despite of his conviction for misappropriating SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
He added that Najib’s father, second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, had set the foundation for bilateral relations between Malaysia and China and that the ties were "very strong" on the economic side during the Pekan MP’s tenure.
