We want our heritage land preserved, says Rafidah

"We don’t want compensation or money from the developer. We want this ancestral land to remain our right for generations to come," said activist Rafidah Ibrahim following the eviction of Kampung Sungai Baru residents on Thursday (Sept 12).
She said that with the eviction process carried out under the Land Acquisition Act 1960, residents had been subjected to compulsory acquisition in exchange for compensation.
