At a press conference on Monday, Ayer Hitam MP and MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong repeated the question he raised in the Dewan Rakyat where he asked for elaboration on the Government's plan on a third national car project.
Dr Wee said the attempt to ensure the success of a new national car company can only mean reverting to higher protectionism, which will result in higher car prices for not only non-national cars, but also Proton cars sold locally compared to those sold overseas.
