WFH initiative has saved govt RM4.22mil in petrol subsidies

The government’s work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants has saved 2.14 million litres of fuel and avoided RM4.2mil in subsidy expenditure since April 17.

Chief Secretary to the Government Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the initiative involving 357,000 civil servants not only provides flexibility but also helps ease the government’s fiscal burden amid soaring fuel subsidy costs.

He also stressed the importance of integrity in public service, while EAIC chairman Ismail Bakar welcomed plans to establish the Malaysian Ombudsman to strengthen oversight and public service delivery.
