Wong finally receives certificate but demands police report retracted

Student activist Wong Yan Ke finally received his degree certificate on Saturday and demanded that University Malaya retract the police report lodged against him.
This he said is in line to upholding the freedom of expression as per claimed by the university.
His lawyer, Asheeq Ali Sethi Alivi also demanded the university to explain itself regarding the claim it made in the statement that it did not withhold Wong’s certificate.
In a statement issued on Oct 19, UM board chairman Tengku Datuk Dr Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen Tengku Ibrahim stressed that the university was not withholding Wong’s scroll and academic transcript nor revoking his degree.
