Yeoh: Sarawak prefers ‘status quo’ over rising minimum age for marriage

Deputy Women, Family and Community Minister Hannah Yeoh clarified on Thursday that Sarawak government has stated its stand to maintain status quo on the issue of raising the minimum age of marriage to 18 among Muslims in the state.
In a press conference on Thursday, Hannah said Sarawak Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah had submitted their letter of feedback on the matter on Dec 19, last year.
