Zafrul on i-Citra: Win-win for the needy and those who don’t want to withdraw money from EPF

During a virtual press briefing on Tuesday, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the Government had made a balanced decision that would benefit those who want to withdraw their Employees Provident Fund savings and those who do not want to do so for the i-Citra programme.
He said the programme would more or less help ease the burden of those who really need the money during the Covid-19 pandemic.
All members below the age of 55 are eligible to apply for i-Citra, which would allow them to withdraw up to RM5,000 subject to their total combined balance in both Account 1 and 2.
