Zahid proposes RM3,500 minimum wage for skilled Malaysian workers

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he had proposed that the minimum wage for skilled Malaysian workers be set at RM3,500, an increase from the current RM1,200.
Dr Zahid said this was to match the minimum wage of skilled foreign workers in the country and to encourage more young Malaysians to take up technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
Dr Zahid said this after officiating the Malaysia TVET Expo on Thursday.
