Apandi quits as Umno disciplinary board chairman

Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali has confirmed that he will be resigning from his post as Umno disciplinary board chairman.
According to a Astro Awani report, Apandi made the decision to resign over the sudden postponement of the disciplinary proceeding against former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
Earlier, supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam accused the party leadership of protecting Hishammuddin and said the disciplinary board should be able to carry out investigations independently.
