Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Wednesday denied any attempt to buy support or entice Malay-Muslim Pakatan Harapan lawmakers in a bid to form a government on May 9. This was supported by his former Cabinet Minister Khairy Jamaluddin who said he was with Najib on the night of the 14th General Election.
They were responding to a claim made by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in an interview with the Mekong Review that the delay in announcing Pakatan Harapan’s victory was due to attempts by Umno and PAS to entice Malay-Muslim representatives to crossover.
