Money politics have gone mainstream, warns academician

During a forum on political financing reforms organised by G25 on Saturday, Universiti Malaya academic Professor Edmund Terence Gomez said money politics have spread out in the country and were apparent in the past two general elections.
Prof. Edmund also expressed his concern that money politics had been institutionalised, citing the example of the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M), that it was a public policy to transfer cash to the poor.
