Barisan Nasional prefers to maintain its underdog status heading into Saturday's (Aug 1) Negri Sembilan polls, says chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Ahmad Zahid told reporters on Tuesday (July 28) that the stance was to avoid overconfidence and ensure the coalition continued reaching out to all voter groups, including smaller segments.

On the Mentri Besar candidate, Ahmad Zahid said Barisan could choose from a list of 10 assemblymen.
