Umno firmly against any 'back door' move to topple unity govt, says Zahid

Umno will remain in the unity government until the next general election and will not entertain any “back door” attempt to topple it, said party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman noted that proposals to revive cooperation with the Opposition, including PAS under the defunct Muafakat Nasional framework, were considered and rejected.

Ahmad Zahid’s remarks come after Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh urged the party to withdraw from the unity government over alleged breaches of race, religion, and royalty red lines.
